When Derrick from Shivelight Beverage Co. approached me to do this campaign, I jumped at it. The opportunity to travel to small farms in Western Montana wasn’t something I was going to pass up. I’m obsessed with process and seeing how farmers organize, operate, and prioritize their workflow was fascinating. Besides, Shivelight makes a darn tasty drink.
The first of these was the “Honey” episode. We shot all day and I had way more footage than needed. Post-production isn’t just assembling footage it’s also an opportunity to study & refine. By the time the second shoot (“Cherry” episode) came around, I had found the narrative and knew the pieces needed to weave it. We shot for 2 hours and I got exactly what I needed.
